A wide mango wood bowl with a glossy interior and CIAO in bold block letters. The outside is left bare so the grain shows — the contrast between plain wood and the loud enamel inside is what makes it work. A serving bowl rather than a mixing one: salad for a table of people, fruit on a counter, or bread and crisps for a crowd. Big enough to sit empty as a centrepiece and still have something to say.
